Mimicry follows Pei Ying, a young woman searching for the love she never received from her father. After his passing, her grief intensifies when she learns he was a respected tangki. 

Convinced that stepping into his spiritual role and mimicking 

him is the only way to earn his acceptance, Pei Ying becomes 

caught between cultural duty and her own sense of self. 

As she navigates rituals, expectations, and the weight of inheritance, she begins to confront what it truly means to belong to her family, tradition, and herself.​
